Quick Craft for Kids using Paint and Wood Parts

Here is a really quick and super fun project for kids. These animals are made from wood parts, paint, glue and a sinamay hat. Both characters use only two colours of paint and were completed within about half an hour. Imaginations can run wild when crafting - the red dog (painted by a six year old) originally started out as a cat and the pig (painted by a ten year old) has a piercing in one ear (a tiny seed bead). At the time of this posting the names for each character hasn't been decided but that too is part of the fun.

Supplies used for these projects:
1 1/4" Cube (for the dog's head)
1 1/8" Cube for the pig's head)
1/2" Beads (beads work better than round balls because of a slight flatness where the hole is)
1/2" Hearts (for ears)
3/4" Button (for the snout)
Small Sinamay Hat (for the pig)
